Our Pediatric Dental Office
Hours & Policies

We are available 8am - 5pm Tuesday – Friday.  For after hours emergencies, please listen to our voice mail message.

Scheduling Appointments

Our office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available.  Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are fresher and we can work more slowly with the child for their comfort.  School aged children for routine visits can be scheduled throughout the day.  Most treatment appointments will be scheduled in the morning.  Our afternoon appointments are for routine visits and older children requiring minor dental treatment.

Finances

Payment for professional services is due at the time dental treatment is provided.  Every effort will be made to provide a treatment plan which fits your timetable and budget, and gives your child the best possible care.  We accept cash, personal checks, and most major credit cards.

DeDomenico Pediatric Dentistry has convenient locations in Tampa and Lutz. Our goal is to deliver the best possible dental care for infants, children, teens and kids with special healthcare needs. Our team will strive to make sure that your child has a positive experience while maintaining the highest standard of safety. There are some guidelines that help us keep the environment safe for us all.

We ask that only one adult accompany a child for treatment.

During appointments we ask that other siblings remain in the waiting area under adult supervision.

Cell phones can be a tremendous distraction so we politely ask that you keep your cell phones off or in airplane mode. If you must take a call, we ask that you answer the phone outside the treatment and exam areas.

Pictures and camera phones are a great way to document your child’s first dental experience. However, there are times when this activity may not be appropriate.
Please be courteous to other patients, parents and team members, and ask before taking pictures or filming in
our office.

To help keep our office neat and clean for us all, no food or drinks are allowed.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!!

Your Child’s First Visit

We make your child's first visit easy for you and your child!

Getting to know Dr. Dustin, Dr. Vicki and their team will be a fun and enjoyable experience for you, your child, and us. We will review your child’s history, and make sure you are comfortable with our procedures and staff. Below are several questions that you may have before your first visit.

Our office and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a child’s first visit be completed by their first birthday.

  • What should I bring on my first visit?

On your first visit to our office, please bring your insurance card and your Patient Forms already completed.

Your insurance determines your deductible.  Any amount not covered by your insurance will be due that day.

Please download and print our Patient Forms.

  • Do you accept dental insurance?

We accept most insurance plans and as a courtesy, we will submit your insurance claim for you.  The portion that is not covered by the insurance company is your responsibility and due at the time of service. If payment is not met in full at time of services, then a statement will be sent to you and will reflect a service fee.

It is a benefit to you to know and understand what your insurance benefits are, including deductibles and co-pays. Regrettably, we do not dictate insurance policies and can only work with them. We will make every effort to help you understand what your coverages are.

  • What can I expect to pay for our visit?

We would be happy to discuss fees and insurance with parents prior to the first visit in our office.

Our receptionists will discuss this with you, and answer any questions you may have prior to making your first visit.

  • My child may be nervous. Can you help?

It is quite normal for children to be anxious about their first visit to the dentist.  Pediatric dentists have special training in helping anxious children feel secure during treatment. Parents can help prepare their children by displaying a positive attitude toward dental care. Children quickly pick up on parents’ anxieties about dental treatment.  Avoid discussing the details of treatment, or any negative experiences you may have had in the past. Our team will explain everything using child-friendly terms in a caring and supportive way.

  • We have several children and scheduling is important to us.
Do you run on time, and will you see all my children at once?

We know that our parents have busy schedules, and we do our best to stay on schedule at all times. For 6-month dental health exams, you will love the convenience of family appointments! You can reserve time for several children at once.

Dr. Dustin is a pediatric dentist. Dr. Vicki has 40 years of experience limiting her practice to children. They specialize in the treatment and prevention of dental disease, as well as the overall oral health of children. Through extra years of schooling, training, experience, and certification, a pediatric dentist is uniquely qualified to treat the dental needs of infants, children, and adolescents.

A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. These needs may include orthodontics, dental sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education. We like to feel that you and your child do not come to our office to have their “cavities fixed” but rather to prevent them.

Dr. Dustin, Dr. Vicki and their Tampa children’s dental team provide all of the educational tools necessary for your child to smile
cavity-free.
